The Session
The Pre-School organises its sessions so that the children can choose from – and work at – a range of activities. In doing so they can build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others.
Snacks
The Pre-School makes snack a social time at which children sit together in small groups. Milk, water and fruit are offered. Do tell us about your child’s dietary needs and we will make sure that these are met.
Children in nappies / Potty training
At Aspley Guise Pre-School we welcome children who are in nappies or pull-ups, are undergoing potty training or are fully potty trained. We are happy to work alongside parents/carers who are trying to get their child potty trained. The pre-school’s toilets are low-level child-sized, so it is easy for children to learn to use them without assistance.
Please supply a set of clean underwear and skirt/trousers, in case of accidents.
School clothing
The pre-school offers partial uniforms for children. This protects their own clothing and helps them to get used to wearing a uniform. You can purchase t-shirts and sweatshirts, prices are £5 and £10 respectively. Please speak to one of the staff at school if you wish to purchase an item.
Starting Pre-School
When your child is due to start pre-school for the first time you will be offered some settling in sessions. More details can be read in the Settling in Process which will be included shortly. In the meantime, please contact any member of staff, or call us, to discuss |
